What is a homeschool co-op? |
A: |
A homeschool co-op is a group of homeschooling families who come together to share educational opportunities, build friendships, and support one another throughout their homeschool journey. Unlike a traditional school, homeschool co-ops are parent-led communities where families work together to create enriching experiences for their children. Students have opportunities to learn alongside peers, participate in hands-on projects, explore new interests, and develop lasting friendships in a supportive environment. At Emerald Coast Co-op our focus extends beyond academics because we believe that Homeschooling is better together. We are a Christian homeschool community serving families throughout Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Navarre, Crestview, Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach, and the surrounding Emerald Coast. Families at ECC enjoy: • Weekly enrichment classes Our goal is to create a welcoming community where children and parents can learn, grow, connect, and thrive together. |

About Us
Q: |
Who Is Emerald Coast Co-op? |
A: |
The Emerald Coast Co-op was started in 2012 by a small group of moms. These moms had a vision to provide a place where homeschool families could join together weekly to learn and grow. Their Christian foundation was at the root of their vision from the start. Through the years, many moms have worked as board members to help ECC become the amazing organization it currently is. Always maintaining the goal of building a strong faith-based learning community for our local homeschool families. |
Q: |
Do you offer extra events? |
A: |
Yes! Community is a big part of who we are! Throughout the year, ECC families enjoy field trips, park days, mom's nights out, family events, and parent date nights. We also host holiday parties, service projects, and other special activities. Our teen group, Forged, provides opportunities for middle and high school students to connect through game nights, lunches, outings, and special events. We also host an annual prom and graduation ceremony for our seniors. |
Q: |
What Ages Does ECC Serve? |
A: |
We offer classes and activities for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. We also have a pre-k & nursery class for younger siblings so that moms can actively participate in our co-op community. While we do not currently accept nursery or preschool families as standalone members, we would be happy to connect with you and add your family to our waitlist until your oldest child reaches kindergarten and you officially begin homeschooling. |
